Clyde could be placed in solitary confinement or sent to facility with more security, but something tells us that he’d still find a way to cause chaos.
At this point, it seems like the only thing that’s going to end all Clyde’s tormenting is for him to face a grim fate!
Is this Clyde’s swan song storyline? Could Days finally be ready to write this twisted villain out permanently?
The 10th anniversary of James Read’s debut in the role will happen this June, so maybe the show plans to celebrate by sending Clyde out with a bang!
It feels like the character of Clyde has perhaps run his course, especially since he doesn’t have any family left in Salem.
Days viewers will recall that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is off canvas with Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) and they little family they’ve built, so Clyde’s son is no longer around to keep him in line.
Clyde only exists to cause trouble now – and he’s certainly causing plenty of it!
Even if Clyde isn’t guilty of orchestrating everything that happened the night before Valentine’s Day, he’s done more than enough to warrant a grisly departure over the years.
That includes causing Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) horrific outcome since Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera’s (Autumn Gendron) lives were forever changed by that loss.
On social media, many Days fans have grown tired of Clyde’s antics and are calling for his exit.
Perhaps it’s time to retire Clyde as a villain or at least rest him for quite some time.
It’s easy to imagine a dramatic climax where Clyde escapes and finally gets eliminated. If a scenario like that plays out, it’ll be interesting to see who ultimately wipes Clyde off the map.
Clyde may not survive his latest reign of terror – though we should mention that even deceased DOOL characters have a habit of rising from the grave.
If they ever wanted to undo Clyde’s demise, they could always just say it was faked or that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) revived him for some nefarious reason.
